Join us for a collaboration with Engineering Tomorrow in which students will learn about the global need for clean water and why water reuse is an effective solution. They will learn about their water footprint and the fundamentals of water treatment technologies, including coagulation, clarification, filtration, and disinfection. Students will then have the opportunity to construct a water filter that simulates the real-world economic tradeoffs that must be considered when designing an engineering solution.
Students will also have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with college mentors from major universities who specialize in aerodynamics and engineering to help focus their design and provide constructive feedback during the process!
Schedule of Events:
12:00 - 1:00 Introduction, Check In, Welcome Video, and Pizza
1:00 - 2:00 Begin water filter design
2:00- 2:30 Groups will have one-on-one Q&A Session with college mentors
2:30 - 3:00 Complete Building
3:30 - 4:00 - Testing and wrap up!
