Description: In a new collaboration with Engineering Tomorrow, students will work collaboratively to design, build, and test different bridges to maxamize the load. Students will also explore the concepts of engineering drade-offs and the need to balance competing demands. They will calculate the material cost of their initial bridge design and struve to achieve the same performance with fewer or less expensive materials. Additionally, students will learn about the importance of bridges in connecting communities across the globe and investigate the impact of different materials and designs.
Students will also have the opportunity to speak one- on-one with college mentors from major universities who specialize in bridge design and engineering to help focus their building and provide constructive help during the building process!
