May 20th
12:00 - 4:00
Grades 3-12 In-Person Only
Lunch is provided
Please join us for this fun STEAM event! In this class, students will learn about engineering, construction, and the scientific process! Students will be put into teams based on age and compete to create a device that can keep a chicken egg intact when dropped from the top of a ladder.
This is an activity for grades 3-12 and will be offered in person at the RVA Learning Center in Mosinee. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, and persist in problem-solving.
The Schedule for the event is as follows:
12:00 - 12:45: Meet teammates and “purchase” materials. (students will be given a budget amount and will need to allocate RVA Bucks to purchase the materials needed to complete the project).
12:45 - 1:30: Students will take a small break for lunch and to discuss their team strategy
1:30 - 3:00: Students will have time to create their device as well as try it out.
3:00 - 3:30: Egg Drop! We will drop the eggs and see which teams win!
3:30 - 4:00: Awards Ceremony! This event will be capped at 30 students, so sign up today!
